At Schell Brothers, we’re more than just a homebuilder—we’re a community builder. Our mission has always been to spread joy and create lasting happiness, and this April, we embraced a cause close to our hearts with our Adopt Kindness initiative. As part of our ongoing Project Kudos campaign, we launched the Adopt a Mom phase, focusing on making Mother’s Day special for moms going through tough times.
Why Adopt a Mom?
Mother’s Day is a time for celebration, but not all mothers are able to partake in the joy. Some are facing financial hardships, personal losses, or other challenges that make it difficult to feel appreciated. Our Adopt a Mom campaign aimed to ensure that these mothers know they are loved, valued, and not alone.
A happy mom creates a ripple effect of positivity within her family. When a mother feels supported and appreciated, it translates into a nurturing environment for her children. By extending our kindness, we hoped to foster this sense of well-being and joy.
Spreading Joy
With Mother’s Day around the corner, we called on our community to help bring a smile to these moms’ faces. The response was nothing short of extraordinary. We asked for donations of new items that could uplift and bring joy to a mother in need.
The call to action was simple: drop off your gift at the Schell Brothers office or one of our partner locations-Food Bank of Delaware.
If the daily rush and busyness of daily life prevented anybody in our community from being able to assemble the box themselves, we offered as a secondary option a donation link. We encouraged the donors in our community to donate and don’t forget to share a heartfelt message for a mom. We’d curate a personalized box for her and include their message.
The Power of Community
Our target was to assemble around 100 gift boxes. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, brand ambassadors, over 15 local businesses, and colleagues, we not only met but nearly doubled our goal! Together, we created close to 200 gift boxes, each filled with love and thoughtfulness, and we delivered them to Bayhealth Hospital Sussex & Kent Campus, Children and Families First Delaware & What is Your Voice non-profit.
These boxes were more than just presents—they were messages of hope and solidarity. Each one symbolized the collective effort of a community that cares deeply for its members. It was a powerful reminder that even in difficult times, we are not alone.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To everyone who contributed to the Adopt a Mom campaign, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your kindness and generosity have made a profound impact on nearly 200 mothers, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported. This initiative has shown us the strength of our community and the incredible things we can achieve when we come together.
The Journey Continues
At Schell Brothers, our commitment to building happiness goes beyond constructing homes. We strive to foster a sense of community and support, making a positive difference in the lives of those around us. The Adopt a Mom campaign was just one phase of our larger Project Kudos initiative, and we look forward to continuing our mission of spreading joy and kindness.
As we celebrate the success of this campaign, we are reminded of the importance of compassion and community spirit. Thank you for joining us in this journey, and for helping to make the world a little brighter, one mom at a time.
How You Can Continue to Help
Even though the Adopt a Mom campaign has concluded, the spirit of giving and kindness continues. There are always opportunities to support those in need within our community. Consider volunteering, donating to local charities, or simply spreading positivity in your daily interactions.
Together, we can continue to create a world where every mom—and every person—feels appreciated and loved. Thank you for being part of our mission, and let’s keep the kindness flowing!
