Since almost all of Delaware is a part of the Atlantic Coastal Plain, the ocean moderates its climate.
Sussex County, located in the southern portion of the state, has a somewhat milder climate and a longer
growing season than the northern area. Average high temperatures in the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach resort area
are 84 degrees in July, 78 degrees in September and 48 degrees in December. Throughout the year, over half
of the days will be filled with sunshine.
