Area Attractions Near Bethany Beach and Dagsboro, Delaware

Within 20 minutes of The Woodlands are two of the area's most coveted natural treasures: Holt’s Landing State Park and Assawoman State Wildlife Area.  Holt’s Landing features a crabbing and fishing pier that provides a scenic view of the inland bays.  The park also has a grand pavilion with picnic tables and a playground for children.  Nearby walking and biking trails provide the perfect setting for a relaxing day with family and friends.

Assawoman State Wildlife Area, just 5 minutes from Dagsboro, offers recreational opportunities that include nature walks and bird watching with opportunities to observe the natural habitats of Blue Herons, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles.  The preserve was created from nine farms, and has been a wildlife area since 1943.  Entry to the State Wildlife Area is free, and its primary goal is habitat conservation.

Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are great times to visit the beach and it’s also a wonderful time for our employees to enjoy some well-deserved time off with family and friends. So here’s our plan: we’re keeping a few offices open – Independence, Lewes Landing and Sunset Harbour – and the sales managers at both locations will be available to answer questions and provide tours of all Schell Brothers communities. The two communities are conveniently located and we’ll have plenty of refreshing drinks available to wet your whistle.

We invite you to visit Independence, Lewes Landing and Sunset Harbour on the following dates:

  • Memorial Day - Monday, May 31
  • Independence Day - Sunday, July 4
    All communities will be open Monday, July 5
  • Labor Day - Monday, September 6
