Sales Assistants are the lifeblood of the sales team. It is an accessory role and gives someone the opportunity to be a part of the sales process. This is an hourly position and can be either part or full time (depending on the needs of the business). Sales Assistants can find themselves performing a variety of functions as a part of the sales process including staffing sales centers when other sales staff isn't in, assisting with paperwork, scheduling, etc..., and communicating with our customers. We are looking to fill a position in our Customer Service department! Customer Service Technicians are the lifeblood of the warranty division of the company. They respond to service calls for customers who have already finished a home with us but are still under warranty. Duties include repair work, networking with trade-partners if necessary, communication with the customers, as well as other duties that are required to fulfill our warranty requirements.

Site Construction Manager

Schell Brothers - Delaware

We are now hiring for a Site Construction Manager. This position will Manage onsite activities associated with site development to include:

  • Coordinating and supervising site work contractors.
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings.
  • Managing site development schedules.
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety.
  • Establishing and maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Mitigating and resolving site related problems.
  • Installing and construction of entrance monuments and common area landscaping.
  • Negotiating contracts and securing permits and licenses.
  • Mass site grading to ensure compatibility with home foundation construction.
  • Installation of infrastructure for new communities/phases.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with State and local government building officials.
  • Completing site take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Working with Certified Construction Reviewers (CCRs) to ensure site E&SC compliance.

Candidates should have 3 years of Site Construction Management experience. Qualified candidates should also have a thorough understanding of mass site grading and infrastructure installation.

Quality Assurance Inspector

Schell Brothers - Delaware

The Warranty Department at Schell Brothers is looking for Quality Assurance Inspectors.  Duties include:

  • Performing independent assessments of the completeness and correctness of Schell Brothers homes prior to Settlement.  In performing this activity, the QA Inspector completes a comprehensive review checklist with approx. 500 performance items.  The QA Inspector should be able to execute Internal Frame Checks as well.
  • Identifying/communicating Final QA deficiencies to the CM for correction prior to Settlement.  Following corrective actions, verify that the CM has adequately addressed deficiencies.
  • Reviewing the quality of the completed home with the Customer during the homeowner orientation.  Record and communicate Customer generated punch list items during the homeowner orientation. 
  • Monitoring quality trends and providing feedback to the Construction Dept., the Design Center and CAD for continuous improvement.

Qualified candidates should have the following:

  • Trade School, Associates Degree or B.S. degree
  • Minimum 10 years post-degree experience in related technical position, e.g., Residential Home Construction, Home Maintenance, Customer Service/Relations, QA/QC, Home Inspection
  • Proven home construction/maintenance abilities and a solid base in construction product knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
